During this Brief Intermission: Down Under Kickoff

G'day mates!

Well, I'm off to see what the world has to offer a sheltered mind like mine. My flight to Auckland, New Zealand takes off just about 24 hours from now and I've just gotten around to telling you about this trip (bad blogger Sid). If it helps you feel better, I'm writing this post with a great sense of Creative Avoidance (footnote 1) from the chess match that is packing for a long trip.

Over the next 15 days I and 18 of my classmates will be touring parts of New Zealand & Australia. We're going to visit wineries, technology innovation specialists, and the culmination and really only reason I'm going on this trip, the Peter Jackson studios. Yep. That's right. That Peter Jackson. The one who wrestled J.R.R. Tolkien with such fury he was able to force him into the business-end of a movie camera and cause his art to spring out the other side in a form most deserving of his literature.

Here's the plan. I'm going to take a break from the so far one part series Sid Prince Writes and load you up with stories of great adventure and heroism as we own the Outback (riiight, and my allergic to anything with a stinger ass will be playing the part of the bumbling academic).

So grab the RSS feed if you haven't already and go on this escapade with me. Pending a decent Internet connection in our rough and tumble hotels I'll be loading pictures and stories as often as I can. It's a whirlwind tour; so I'll do my best to keep up. Promise.

RockOn!

Sid.

Footnote 1: What a great title for a blog. Particularly for someone who engages in the practice with
such frequency. Let's put a pin in that one and return to it in a few weeks (Footnote 2).
                   OK?

Footnote 2: I have NEVER used the cliche "put a pin in it" before (Footnote 3). This was my very first
time, and I rather like the imagery. I suppose that's why it's a cliche, huh?

Footnote 3: Can you really footnote a footnote? It kinda feels like a digression on steroids
                   (Footnote 4).

Footnote 4: Not that I've ever used steroids or even know anyone who has. Seriously. I saw the
                   after-school special. I was convinced.
