I Break for NaNoWriMo

If you've been following this blog for a bit you know that back in April I made a commitment to begin work on my first novel

Well America, up to now I've written exactly 0 pages, 0 words, and 0 letters. But that's all about to change! I'm participating in NaNoWriMo for the very first time this year. In the month of November I plan on getting a whole lotta pages, words, and letters on the page - something around 50,000 words in fact.

Want to know more about why any sane person would subject himself to such a literary beat down? Well, one of my literary blog heros, Alegra Clarke gives some background and logic behind the madness in this post on EditorUnleashed.com.

So, for that and other less interesting reasons, I'll be taking a SPE break in November. I may, if I have any energy left, post an update or two on my progress, but don't count on any wandering prose. I'll be saving that gibberish for the challenge!

Are you a writer participating? My handle is sid_prince - feel free to wander on over and Buddy me.

Do you plan on participating? What do you do to overcome procrastination? What can you tell me to save me from the procrastination bug? Give a brotha a bone man!

Sid.
